Our story begins back in 1919, when a small group of Christians gathered in a home to worship God, pray together, and learn the Bible.  That little church would steadily grow in size and numbers.  They outgrew a few different locations and buildings along the way.  Now, over 100 years later, the people of Calvary Assembly gather at our current location in Springfield, NJ.  Our lead pastor and his wife are Rev. John & Jeanne Bechtel, who has led our congregation since 1988.

Our Mission is truly simple yet deeply important: To Love God, Value People, and Reach the World.  All that we do here at Calvary must fall within one of those essential categories, because we believe that these are the three most important pursuits for every Christian.

We are excited for what God has in the days ahead!  The Bible tells us: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard and no one’s heart has imagined all the things that God has prepared for those who love him!”  This is why we truly believe that the best is yet to come.  By loving God and valuing people, we will be able to make a difference by reaching our world with God’s love!
